Kees de Jagerprijs for Alex de Koter

Astronomer Alex de Koter receives the first Kees de Jager Prize for education in astronomy. This was announced Monday May 13 during the Dutch Astronomers Conference in Egmond aan Zee. Among other things, De Koter is receiving the prize for his efforts to get modern astronomy into the high school physics curriculum, for restructuring the master's program in astronomy at the University of Amsterdam and for his outstanding teaching.
