Blog: Solar spectroscopy
By PhD candidate Kenzie Nimmo
On June 10 2021 there will be an annular solar eclipse, which, in the Netherlands, will be seen as a partial eclipse from 11:19 until 13:31. In places such as Ontario, Canada and northern Greenland, the eclipse event can be seen as an annular eclipse. At the API, we are planning a livestream event on June 10 to learn about eclipses, and (weather permitting) show live footage of the partial solar eclipse using our special solar telescopes. In this blog, I’ll explain what eclipses are and how we learn about the composition of stars.
